Oregon Scientific is ‘king of the world’ with its Smart Globe Smart Globe wins Good Toy ‘Gold Award
Oregon Scientific’s Smart Globe collected the prestigious Gold Award for best product in Science and Nature at this year’s Good Toy Award hosted by the National Association of Toy and Leisure.
The annual Good Toy Awards are regarded as the most prestigious awards for children’s toys in the UK. They are designed to recognise and celebrate excellence in the toy industry. What makes these awards so special is that all the entries are judged by children, childcare professionals, parents and teachers. Toys are assessed and awarded marks in a wide range of criteria such as skill development, play value and safety.
The Smart Globe won the Gold Award in the Science and Nature category.
It is the first globe to feature downloadable content ensuring that the information is always up to date and accurate. The globe stores all manner of information including geographical, political and even meteorological, which is delivered with the help of an innovative Smart Pen. When the nib is placed on the chosen destination information is recalled through the built-in speakers.
John Savage, managing director, Oregon Scientific UK says. “We pride ourselves on developing early learning toys that are not only entertaining for children but also educational. We are constantly looking to make learning as fun as possible with our electronic toys. We are delighted to have won this award.”
The Good Toy Awards has been running for 32 years. The Good Toy Awards is regarded as one of the most influential deciders in the toy industry with over 600 children testing a range of newly released toys and working closely with the toy trade.
