Festive Recipes for a Winter Wonderland. Serves 2
Eggnog- a classic for Christmas. 100ml of whisky, brandy or rum. 2 very fresh raw eggs. 2 teaspoons of orange liqueur (or sugar). 200ml of cold milk. Shake altogether with ice and strain into a tall glass. Sprinkle with nutmeg or chocolate.
Avalanche: 100ml of gin. 50ml of grenadine. 25ml of lemon juice, 25ml of thick cream and two teaspoons of sugar syrup (sugar melted in some hot water). Shake altogether with ice, strain, pour into glasses and top up with soda or sparkling water.
Frozen Daiquiri: 100ml of white rum, 2 teaspoons of sugar and the juice of a lime. Shake vigorously with crushed ice and pour into a tall flute. Add to your glass a dash of triple sec or cherry liqueur along with a cherry or slice of banana, kiwi, peach, pineapple, etc.
Silk Stockings: 120ml white tequila. 50ml of evaporated milk or single cream. 50ml of crème de cacao. 15ml of grenadine. Shake vigorously with crushed ice and strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with cinnamon powder and a cherry.
Snowflake Martini: 100ml of premium vodka. 30ml of blue curacao. 150ml of pineapple juice. 4 tablespoons of cream of coconut. Rim the edge of your chilled martini glasses in lemon juice or even honey and dip the edge in sugar or coconut flakes.
Champagne Charlie: 100ml brandy.50ml orange juice and juice of a whole lemon. 2 teaspoons of grenadine. Shake altogether and strain into frozen wine glasses. Add equal amount of sparkling wine to the glasses and garnish with lemon peel.
